Currently In Development

The music and creative industries thrive on collaboration, yet many online platforms create more obstacles than opportunities. With distractions, unnecessary features, and algorithm-driven content, these spaces often cater to major players—leaving independent artists, creatives, and industry professionals struggling to find meaningful connections.
Residents Desk was created to change that. Drawing inspiration from the now-defunct Buildspace—an AI-powered tool that matched creatives based on shared goals and search intent—as well as the flexibility of Notion and the professional utility of LinkedIn, this platform is purpose-built for genuine creative collaboration, not just networking.
It’s not another social network; it’s a dedicated hub that prioritises purposeful connections, skill-sharing, and real-world projects. Whether you’re an artist, producer, designer, filmmaker, or industry professional, this is where creative work takes centre stage.
The music and creative industries can be overwhelming—especially when building a project. Whether it’s music, film, visual arts, storytelling, or screenwriting, gathering the right elements, people, and resources can feel impossible. Residents Desk was designed to make that process easier. It helps you find the right collaborators and connect with the people who can bring your project to life. By simplifying creative industry access, it supports both emerging and established artists, freelancers, and professionals looking to move forward—together.
What Makes Residents Desk Different?
Designed for collaboration – A dedicated space to connect across Australia’s music and creative sectors.
Made for creatives – Built for artists, freelancers, and industry professionals looking to exchange skills and develop projects.
Simplifies industry connections – Making music business and creative services more straightforward to find and access.
No algorithms controlling visibility – Every voice matters, not just the loudest ones.
No vanity metrics – Growth and creativity take priority over follower counts.
No endless scrolling – A space to make real connections, not just consume content.
Silicon Valley Free – Designed and developed in Australia, built by creatives for creatives.
Residents Desk is a membership-based digital hub for career-driven creatives and industry professionals who want to collaborate meaningfully—without the noise of traditional networking platforms.
This platform evolves with its community, offering exclusive resources, direct industry insights, and practical tools to support sustainable creative careers.
The goal is to create an environment where artists and professionals can connect purposefully, ensuring that industry relationships lead to real opportunities.
If you’re looking for a space that values connection over competition, Residents Desk is for you.

Community and Social Responsibility
Community &
Social Responsibility
Through our events, we aim to highlight important social issues within the music and creative industries while supporting charitable initiatives. By incorporating discussions, workshops, and awareness campaigns, we help shine a light on topics like mental health, gender equity, accessibility, sustainability, and the representation of First Nations voices.
We also look for ways to give back, raising funds through our events to support relevant causes. Whether it’s through donations, creative auctions, or community-driven initiatives, we want to use our platform to contribute in a meaningful way. Our goal is to create a space where creativity and social responsibility go hand in hand, supporting both artists and the wider community.

We acknowledge the First Nations Peoples of Australia, we pay tribute to Elders past, present, and emerging. As participants in Australia’s creative industry, we honour the Traditional Custodians of these lands—the Midjungbal, Yugambeh, Arakwal, Meanjin, and Gadigal peoples—whose deep connection to land, sea, and sky continues to inspire. Indigenous Australians are the world’s oldest continuous storytellers and artists, and we celebrate the cultural richness and wisdom of all Indigenous and First Nations peoples. Accepting the invitation of the Uluru Statement from the Heart, we walk together for a better future.
